Pediatric Developmental Training for PPEC Staff

You're a qualified RN, LPN/LVN, CNA or HHA and know how to do your job well. Learning additional skills in the areas of cognition, language, social/emotional, fine motor, and gross motor skills will allow you to better meet the needs of your patient's individual development milestones. 

Physical, Occupational, Speech, Developmental, and Music Therapy are great for providing specialized rehabilitation, but after that what usually happens? When not engaging in eating, personal care, or sleeping, most children in medical daycare situations are entertained with movies. To better assist children with meeting their developmental milestones, some of the workshops we provide include: 

• Skills goals and activity modifications in the areas of  fine and gross motor development, speech and hearing skills, social and emotional growth, and cognition for children with developmental delays. 

• Training on activity modifications for children with physical , visual, or hearing impairments. 

• No relocation required activities (suitable for bed-bound) children with multiple/severe impairments.

• Classroom modifications to better facilitate different needs (also suitable for the home environment).

• Lift with Confidence: Reviewing proper body mechanics and stretching techniques for caregivers.

• Early Intervention Overview: Assessments performed on children, agencies to contact for parent referral, and the referral & assessment process

• Furthering Your Career: Individualized career counseling for PPEC and Home Health Staff
